Piedmont PA Tapped for Both State and National Boards

Cynthia Hunt Piedmont Orthopaedic Cyn Hunt, Piedmont Spine PA The physicians and staff at Piedmont Orthopaedic congratulate Cyn Hunt, who was recently elected to serve on the Georgia Association of Physician’s Assistants (GAPA) Board of Directors. She has also been elected to her profession's national organization, the American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA), where she will represent Georgia in the House of Delegates. As a member of the GAPA Board and AAPA House of Delegates, she will serve as a liaison between practicing PA’s and PA students, keeping them updated on legislation affecting their profession. The Board also strives to provide PA’s with information on changes in reimbursement and to protect the interests of the profession as a whole. Cyn Hunt, who works under the direction of Piedmont’s neurosurgeon, Dr. Kevin Stevenson, has more than 12 years of experience in spine care as a Physician’s Assistant. Physician Assistants (PA's) are medically trained to provide high quality health care, treat illnesses, plan prevention strategies, and write prescriptions. The Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA) promotes high quality, cost-effective, accessible health care as part of a physician-directed PA/physician team and provides for personal and professional development of PAs. Since 1975, GAPA has represented the PA profession among state and national legislators, kept PAs up to date on reimbursement and legislative news, offering continuing education opportunities, and much more. Before coming to Piedmont, Cyn worked with both orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgeons in Brunswick, Atlanta and Macon. She assists Dr. Stevenson on a wide variety of surgeries and is also able to work autonomously in clinic to offer patients more immediate care. She has also served as a guest lecturer for medical and PA students at Mercer University.
